2008…

By jetsetcouriers

Ok, first post of the new year. If I keep up last years pace this should hold the old blog for a good 4 months. Once again I’m making empty promises about getting this space up and running with more regularity. The blog is a good form of mass notification and updating and has been known to provide some relevant piece of information or entertainment now and then. But I hear you’ve got to actually write the blog in order to make it a functional part of the whole virtual process. I guess I didn’t bank on that. I thought it might just germinate and move along of its own accord like a sycamore tree. No such luck.

One of the nice things about having a decent relationship with just about all former Jetset employees (and some that are life long friends) is learning what their up to, how their conduction their lives, if the need to be bailed out of jail. One such character that worked for Jetset many years ago is the inimitable Tony The Monk. Over the years I’ve witnessed Tony go from a poop obsessed ritalin deprived troublemaker spaz to a responsible man with a formidable design career. Through it all Tony has remained a unique and interesting human being. I value that about him and enjoy getting occasional updates on his doings. The most recent update came this AM. Evidently Tony’s work with Wieden + Kennedy (an ad firm in Portland, I think Nike is their meal ticket) has taken him to their London office for a few months. Like every other schmoe that travels or can tie his shoes he’s got a website/blog chronicling his misadventures. It is, as everything Tony does, entertaining:

Last Nights Tony

At the risk of being too personal and completely unprofessional here’s a link to a poem I recently had published. The site itself (Juked.com) has some consistently quality writing and is worth a daily bookmark:

Joe Kittinger @ 103,000 Feet

Ok, I’ll leave it at that for now. There’ll be more this year. I promise.
